TankStocked builds free, fast, honest planning tools for the freshwater aquarium hobby. Our goal is simple: help people set up stable tanks and avoid the two mistakes that sink most beginners — overstocking, and under-sizing the filter and heater.

How our numbers work — and their limits
Our calculators turn well-known aquarium rules of thumb into instant tools. We're deliberately transparent about the math: each tool has a "how this works" section explaining the heuristic it uses (for example, the 4× filter turnover rule and the 3–5 watts/gallon heater guideline).
These are planning aids, not laboratory measurements. Real outcomes depend on your filtration, water-change routine, plants, feeding, and the specific fish you keep. We say so on every tool, and we'd rather you stock a little light than trust a number blindly.
